Understanding the Barriers to High Quality and Justly Compensated Child Care

Collaborating with multiple stakeholders in Kansas, our research examines the perspectives, challenges, and opportunities for child care providers in Kansas. This research creates a baseline understanding to inform the development of innovations to build a just and humane child care economy in Kansas.

Young Families’ Experiences of Social Connection and Responsibility

Collaborating with the Center for Public Partnerships and Research at the University of Kansas, we are surveying parents of young children to understand their experiences, attitudes, and behaviors as they relate to social connectedness and support. This survey will be used to develop policy instruments, philanthropic strategies, and programmatic interventions to build greater connectedness for young families.

Redesigning the Pediatric Primary Care Clinic to Promote Relational Health

As we think about the ongoing transformation in healthcare, moving from an emphasis on the pathophysiology of disease to a broader approach that includes the social determinants of health, parent-child interaction, early literacy, and early relational health, we worked with Reach Out and Read Carolinas to consider a redesign of the physical space of the pediatric primary care clinic.
